EXAMINATION OF FREE TIME OBSTACLES AND FREE TIME MANAGEMENT LEVELS IN TERMS OF DIFFERENT VARIABLES (SAMPLE OF FEMALE EMPLOYEES IN KONYA PROVINCE)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the free time barriers and free time management levels of working women and to reveal the relationship between these two concepts. The study group of the research consists of working women aged between 18-51 years and living in Selçuklu district of Konya province, selected by continuous and continuous convenience sampling method. 1915 female employees participated in the study voluntarily. The “Leisure Time Barriers Scale”, which was developed by Alexandris and Carroll (1997), adapted to Turkish by Karaküçük and Gürbüz (2006), and whose construct validity was tested by Gürbüz, Öncü and Emir in 2012, and the “Leisure Time Management Scale”, which was developed by Wang et al. in 2011, adapted to Turkish by Akgül and Karaküçük in 2015, and whose validity and reliability were tested, were used in the study. According to the Skewness and Kurtosis test results performed to determine whether the data showed a normal distribution, it was determined that the data did not show a normal distribution. After determining that the data did not show a normal distribution, descriptive statistics were used in the analysis of the data, as well as the Mann Whitney-U test, Kruskal Wallis test and Correlation analysis methods to compare various variables. The significance level was accepted as p<0.05.
